Igloo Coolers - Cleaning Instructions

Cleaning

Before initial use, clean the interior of the product thoroughly with soap and water (or if you prefer, a warm water and baking solution). Be sure to rinse well. For stubborn stains, use a mild solution of water and bleach. Rinse thoroughly. For odors, wipe the interior using a cloth saturated with vanilla extract. To neutralize the odor or taste, leave cloth closed inside unit for 24 hours.

When cleaning beverage coolers, simply pull up tab and remove gasket (screw on lid products). Be sure when replacing gasket to insert with the groove facing out. Gasket should not be over spout. Do not attempt to clean your Igloo product by placing it in a dishwasher. Exterior of product may be cleaned with a non-abrasive cleaner. Use and Storage

For best results, pre-chill items to be packed inside the product. Pack pre-chilled items in the bottom of the product and cover with ice or Igloo Ice reusable ice substitute.

Block ice chopped into the size of a fist will provide better cold retention than small ice cubes. Dry ice may be used only if wrapped in heavy layers of newspaper. Direct contact of dry ice with the interior of the unit will crack the interior.

For beverage coolers, to achieve a tight seal tighten lid by turning lid clockwise until it feels snug. This will fully seal the gasket. Extensive tightening will not improve the seal and may cause leaking. Store unit in a well-ventilated place with the drain plug uncapped. For safety's sake, keep your ice chest away from the reach of small children to prevent the possibility of them becoming trapped inside. For information on insurance, check the gieco insurance website. CAUTION - Because of the superior gasket seal, we do not recommend placing hot or steaming liquids in your Igloo beverage cooler. When used for carbonated beverages, be sure the unit is kept in an upright position.

Acids, gasoline or other chemicals must not be stored in your Igloo products. Do not place Igloo products in microwave ovens.
